How to plan a 15-second ad that actually works
Short video ads are everywhere because they work, but only when every second earns its place. Here's a simple structure you can use for almost any business.
0 to 3 seconds: the hook
Show the problem or ask a question your customer recognises. "Tired pool?" or "Still waiting for quotes?" Avoid opening with your logo: nobody stops scrolling for a logo.
3 to 8 seconds: the promise
Show what changes when they use you. Before and after, the finished result, the happy customer.
8 to 12 seconds: the proof
A price, a review, a number ("live in 7 days"), or a recognisable client. Proof turns interest into trust.
12 to 15 seconds: the call to action
Tell people exactly what to do: "WhatsApp us for a quote", with your number on screen. Keep it on screen long enough to read.
Five tips
- Design for sound off, with clear on-screen text.
- Film vertically for Reels, TikTok and Stories.
- One message per ad. Make more ads instead of cramming.
- Keep text away from the edges, where app buttons sit.
- Test two hooks and keep the winner.
